John & Stasia Nielsen are career missionaries who have served the Lord on four continents since they were married in 1984.
In the late 80′s, John served as an associate pastor for the English speaking Chinese congregation at Kowloon Tong Alliance Church in Hong Kong under Reverend T. Grady and Evelyn Mangham and helped launch a high school student ministry at HKIS, a large private high school where the sons and daughters of diplomats and local politicians attended.
It was during this time that the Nielsen’s traveled throughout the Philippines and Thailand to share God’s love amongst the prostitutes, at risk youth and poor. They traveled all up and down the PI, barely surviving Typhoon Ruby and several close calls amongst the Muslim Guerrillas in Mindanao. Tirelessly sharing Christ’s love during this time, they witnessed nearly 3,600 people commit theirs lives to the Lord in just 8 weeks!
In the early 90′s they developed and directed a ministry in Australia called “Strike A Light, proclaiming the gospel through performing arts, reaching out to hundreds of public schools and universities throughout the nation, conducting large group assemblies, discussion forums , camps and Christian education classes.
John & Stasia led Strike A Light teams to the Barcelona Olympic outreach in ’92, and to Mexico City and Guadalajara in ’93, ’94 and ’95. To this day, Strike A Light team members continue to serve as pastors, teachers and change agents for the kingdom in Australia and other parts of the world.
While on sabbaticals they led teams on week-long outreaches in Mexico in ’96, ’97 and ’98. They directed a short term mission program in the Yucatan Peninsula the summers of ’99 and 2000.
In early 2001, they moved to Chapala, Mexico (located in the mountains 30 miles from Guadalajara) to launch Eagle Nest Mission Treks–hosting teams there for the next several years, also leading teams from Mexico to Australia in 2002 and 2004.
It was during this time that they began to care for several abandoned babies and toddlers. Because of this, Stasia developed Eagles Nest Sponsor-a-Child with the goal of getting at risk mothers, children and toddlers adequate nutrition and education. This program eventually became two thriving children’s homes and a center for at risk families in one of the most notorious narco-controlled areas in the region.
In the Spring of 2011. John teamed up with a core group of social entrepreneurs to launch “Justice For Youth,” a non profit program focused on combating the human trafficking of young people, as well as addressing the related issues of poverty and abandonment that put young people at risk globally.
In the summer of 2012, John led JFY teams to Australia and the London Olympics.

Their first four of daughters were born to them while serving in missions, and their fifth daughter (who is high- functioning Autistic) and only son were born while on sabbatical in the United States.
